Immediate Concerns

Losing a loved one is an emotional and painful experience – which no amount of preparation can prepare you for.  In this moment of shock and grief, it is therefore understandable that having to make important decisions in the days following your loved ones passing may seem incredibly overwhelming, particularly if this is the first time you have suffered a loss.

The first thing we advise you to do therefore is to give us a call, to let us know that your loved one has passed away.  Saying the words out loud may feel extremely raw, but once you have passed the responsibility of arranging the funeral over to us, the sense of relief will be comforting.

Supporting you through every step and decision

Our family will then support your family every step of the way.  From the moment you first make contact with us we will endeavour to help and guide you through all the difficult decisions that have to be made.  We will arrange to meet you in your home or in our premises at Cleator Moor or Egremont.

Above all else, during this difficult time, we want to reassure you that you’re not alone, and whatever questions or worries you may have, we are here to support you.

As a recap, here are the immediate concerns that need to be addressed after loosing a loved one:

  • Call a GP or ambulance service
  • Notify us of your loved ones passing
  • Acquire a medical certificate
  • Register the death with your local registrar
  • We will arrange for your loved one to be brought into our care
